Dr. O’Neill was born in Ft. Belvoir, VA (her father was in the Navy) and raised in Wheaton, MD. She graduated from UMD (College Park) with a Bachelor of Science in 1984 and later attended Essex Community College (Baltimore County) and graduated in 1986 as a Certified Veterinary Technician. She received her DVM degree from the VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992 and originally wanted to practice mixed animal medicine. Instead, she worked as a small animal veterinarian at various clinics in Maryland and then began working at Palmer Animal Hospital in 2009.
Her son Phillip,27, works for the post office and recently bought a house in Hagerstown.
Dr. O’Neill’s interests and hobbies include skiing, swimming, volleyball, scrap booking, photography and reading. She lives in Jefferson with her remaining dog Bella and several fish.
